Umuchinemere Procredit Microfinance Bank (UPMFB) Amokwe branch moved to its new building on February 25th, 2026, with a renewed focus on driving financial inclusion and empowerment in the community.
The branch, which was initially established as a Customer Meeting Point (CMP) in 2008, was upgraded to a full-fledged branch in 2015, marking a significant milestone in its growth and development.
The ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Rev. Msgr Prof. Obiora Ike, the Board Chairman, Igwe Okadibia, the traditional ruler of Amokwe community, some directors of UPMFB including, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Onodugo, Ujaligwa III the traditional ruler of Umuavulu-Abor, Udi Local Government Area, Enugu State, Mrs Nwanneka Okolo, Rev. Fr. Dr. Stanley Ikeche, Rev. Fr. Dr. Ambrose Agu, Mrs Nnenna Ekete, and Mr Charles Udeani, the Managing Director, alongside other management staff of the bank, and other invited guests and customers.
Rev. Msgr Obiora Ike, the board chairman, emphasised the importance of corporate citizenship, urging businesses to be part of the community in which they operate. HRM Igwe Dr. Chike Paschal Onodugo encouraged attendees to take advantage of financial opportunities, stressing the need for financial literacy within their environments.
The event also featured the announcement of a women’s empowerment programme by Mr. Tony Eze, who pledged to support about 1000 Amokwe women in their businesses with the sum of ₦100,000 each.
UPMFB Managing Director, Mr. Charles Udeani, assured customers of the bank’s commitment to innovation, growth, and exceptional service, highlighting the adoption of Fibre/4G network technology for its operations and a dual-path integration with Interswitch Ltd for efficient mobile & e-banking transactions.
This marks a significant milestone in UPMFB’s journey, reinforcing its dedication to empowering communities and driving financial inclusion in Nigeria.
