Umuchinemere Procredit Microfinance Bank (UPMFB) has continued its community-driven outreach and strategic engagement with a high-level interface held recently between the bank’s leadership and the executive arm of Ezeagu Local Government Area (LGA) of Enugu State. The focus of the meeting was to explore collaborative pathways for implementing revolving loan schemes and other grassroots economic interventions across the LGA.
Held at the council headquarters in Aguobu Owa, the engagement brought together key officials of the local government, including the Executive Chairman, Hon. Dr. Vitalis Ndu, and representatives of UPMFB led by members of the bank’s management team. Discussions centred on creating sustainable access points for microfinance in rural communities, particularly through Customer Meeting Points (CMPs), to reach underserved populations.
The meeting highlighted the shared vision between UPMFB and the Ezeagu Local Government Council in driving agricultural development, supporting small business owners, and providing low-income individuals with access to tailored loan products. As part of the collaboration, the council expressed interest in working with UPMFB to fund targeted programs for economic empowerment, job creation, and infrastructure development in rural areas.
The bank reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with local authorities in developing inclusive financial solutions that align with community development goals. With a track record of impactful lending and community banking, UPMFB is positioning itself to become a major driver of rural transformation through microfinance in Ezeagu and beyond.
Both parties expressed optimism that the interface would yield tangible results through well-structured financial services that are accessible, sustainable, and community-sensitive.
